Acting Workshop with Sandra Corveloni

Between August and November 2025, we held the workshop “The Importance of Listening for the Contemporary Actor”, a project that marked the launch of our company’s educational branch and reaffirmed our commitment to research, artistic training, and the dissemination of knowledge within the arts.

Led by renowned actress and acting teacher Sandra Corveloni, the program consisted of 16 weekly sessions, totaling 64 hours of activities. The project was carried out through Brazil’s Federal Cultural Incentive Law, under the Ministry of Culture and the Federal Government, with sponsorship from Bombril.

The workshop focused on deepening stage presence and listening as fundamental principles of contemporary acting, through the practical investigation of Russian realism texts and acclaimed works of Brazilian dramaturgy. Throughout the process, participants developed exercises and scenes centered on the relationship between actor, scene partner, and dramatic space, fostering performances grounded in active listening, precision, and stage awareness.

Twenty theater students from socioeconomically vulnerable backgrounds were selected to participate, with priority given to Black and mixed-race participants, as well as one position reserved for a person with disabilities, in alignment with the project’s commitment to expanding access, inclusion, and high-quality artistic training.

In addition to the classes taught by Sandra Corveloni, the program included monthly mentorship sessions with Ale Zalaf, responsible for voice training, and Einat Falbel, responsible for body and movement preparation. The program also featured special lectures by Eduardo Tolentino, founder of Grupo Tapa, and Sidney Santiago, broadening participants’ engagement with different perspectives within the contemporary theater scene.

At the conclusion of the program, the students presented a final showcase for the instructors, which was also open to the general public, family members, and other guests interested in experiencing the results of the pedagogical process developed throughout the workshop. The presentation marked the closing of the project and provided participants with an opportunity to share their work with diverse audiences.

FIRST ACT

At the third signal and with the lights dimming, we embark on an immersive journey that can be filled with romance, suspense, comedy, horror, adventure, or drama. In this dive into diverse narratives, we discover not only new worlds but also unexplored parts of ourselves. As Aristotle stated, theater holds the liberating power of catharsis; by seeing our passions represented, it’s as if we are experiencing them intensely.

The First Act project arises from the conviction that access to culture and the arts is a fundamental right that should be extended to all layers of society. The theatrical experience, rich in emotion, narrative, and artistic expression, often escapes the lives of individuals who have never had the chance to attend a theater. We believe that giving these individuals the opportunity to watch a play not only enriches their lives culturally but also strengthens community bonds and promotes social inclusion.

Theater, as a universal art form, has the power to transcend socioeconomic barriers, providing moments of reflection, inspiration, and empathy. By offering this opportunity, we aim not only to entertain but also to stimulate critical thinking and enrich the cultural fabric of our community. As lovers of the stage and observers of social indicators that, unfortunately, segregate many people from this world, Bravíssimo Productions is tirelessly dedicated to breaking barriers. Our mission is to kick off the First Act that goes beyond the stage, opening the curtains to a journey that can profoundly transform lives.

CARNAVRAH

CARNAVRAH emerged from the need to create a space where everyone feels free to express their authenticity. In 2022, we inaugurated this street parade with a unique proposal: to highlight and celebrate the incredible contributions of LGBTQIA+ artists from Brazil. Since then, we have been a strong voice in the fight for equality, promoting acceptance and respect through festive celebration.
